Domaine du Kré
Louise Perret et Niels de Chardon
Established in November 2021 by young winemakers Louise Perret and Niels de Chardon, this small estate sits on the rugged slopes of Bugey. They pursue ORGANIC farming and permaculture principles to ensure their Gamay grapes grow as sustainably as possible in a delicate Alpine ecology.
First vintage in 2022, we chose Bugey for its vineyard with varied and hilly landscapes. In the vineyard, we try to work with nature by adopting a holistic vision: No plowing to avoid erosion and preserve the life of the soil. Planting hedges and trees in and around the plots to provide diversity, also with the installation of nest boxes and shelters for auxiliary fauna. A desire to reduce treatment doses, in particular the use of herbal medicine. It is with the same spirit that we have chosen to vinify as naturally as possible to let the wine express itself. We started with 4ha of Gamay but we will quickly have a little Jacquère and Altesse via over-grafting and planting. The objective being to keep approximately the same surface area to have time to pay all the attention necessary to the care of the vines and the wine.
